A Gamelan Marching Band parades through village streets during a festival on the Indonesian island of Bali. The Gamelan is the traditional musical instrument of Bali. It consists of metallic, gong-style instruments where notes are hammered out in a percussive rhythm. The word, Gamelan, itself comes from the Indonesian word for Hammer. The orchestra is led by a drummer (pictured) who calls out notes, and whose drum unites the other instruments.
