Artist's Description

The Havasupai Native American Tribe has been living in the Grand Canyon for over 800 years. Their village can only be reached by foot, horseback or by helicopter. Their name itself means, "People of the blue-green waters" in their native language.
Before the National Park was established in 1919 they lived throughout the Grand Canyon. Now they live here in Havasu Canyon which has become their Reservation. It's the only place in the Unites States where the mail is still delivered by mules.
Here one village boy lassos another, surprising everyone, as he shows off his skills with a rope.

About Earth And Spirit

Earth And Spirit

Hi, I'm Jason, the photographer behind Earth And Spirit. In my day-job I'm a Coach. I love to help people find greater freedom in life, and live the kind of life they dream about. Part of my own dream life is to spend as much time as I can on the road, with my camera in hand; just exploring this amazing planet of ours. I fell in love with Photography in my late teens and taught myself to shoot. I spent hours on end in bookshops; discovering the works of photographic giants like Steve McCurry, James Nachtwey, Sabastiao Salgado, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Sam Abell, and Galen Rowell. Freedom, Travel, and experiencing the Sacred are recurring themes that I like to explore in my photographic work. My goal with each photograph is to take you...
